The 10 Strategies of Online Success
We think of
We’re all myopic at times. Yet, if you’re worked on the problem of web presence for a long enough period of time, you find that there are essential truths to how your company can succeed digitally.
We’ve distilled these essential truths down to a process we call the 10 Strategies. These strategies are what we use to kick ass on the Internet. We’re showing this to you not to show how easy the web is, but perhaps reveal a bit how complex it is.
Most businesses, whether small or large, focus on Strategies 2~4 – from building a single point of contact on the web (a website) to gaining eyeballs to that touchpoint. But these strategies are only the beginning of online success.
We give this to you free of charge. Peruse to get a feel for what total success looks like – and don’t let it daunt you! Knowledge is power. We’ll be writing about this more in depth in the near future, and creating a white paper about it, downloadable for your pleasure (so click here for our Newsletter so we can inform you when it’s ready!)
We ensure that strategy is in place before we move. We also ensure that it's in place before you move. Our goal is to create the most streamlined method of development for you - the most bang for the buck, the best planning, the best results, and the fastest development, and it all starts when we strategize together.
2. Develop Touchpoints
It’s not just about having a website anymore. You have to be everywhere your customers are – search, social, and more. A touchpoint is where your customer interacts with your brand, company, services and products. And, you have to develop as many touchpoints as you can.
Consider: When is the last time that you went to a search engine and moved beyond the first page of search results? It's probably been a while. Without focusing on getting noticed, no one is going to know you exists - and your ability to attract new customers greatly reduced.
Rankings do NOT = Traffic. Just because visitors found you on Google doesn't guarantee clickthrough. You have to COMPEL visitors to click - because if you don't drive traffic to your website, no one can use your services or buy your product. But how do you compel them?
If you go into your Google Analytics, you'll might find that many, sometimes the majority of your visitors leave after one, perhaps two, pages. What does that mean? Well, either they're bored or confused - not the greatest way to start a relationship with your customer.
Without trust, NO ONE will buy what you're selling. Trust means befriending - and friends are not made instantly. Without building trust, you might get traffic, you might even keep visitors interested and informed, but when it comes to the sale, it's not going to happen.
Most customers DON'T buy right away - so you have to keep in touch. Then, you gently remind them (and reinforce your brand in the process) through email marketing, or social bursts of information that build more trust and keep them coming back to your website.
The Holy Grail of Website Purpose, generating that elusive sale or call is what your efforts are all about. Just building a website does not ensure you sales or leads. Yet, many websites, sometimes at the last moment before purchase, blow the opportunity.
Word of mouth, as we all know, is the most powerful form of advertising, because it relies upon the quality of the product or service - or a happy customer - to drive the process. There are many simple and easily implementable things you can do to boost these efforts.
Do you feel in a constant state of confusion about whether you're succeeding? Do you know who your best customers are? Do you know WHY they are your best customers? Tracking analytics gives you the power to know what to do next, and how to improve. Don't be left in the dark!
These 10 Strategies encompass what we can do for you. We focus on strategy.
